My blessings come with no sorrow. Trials come and I use them for your good, but I don’t harm you. I don’t send catastrophe and destruction upon you. So trust in me. Be confident in your decisions and in my guidance. What the world calls failure is just an opportunity to try something different. So there is no fear in stepping out, taking risks, and trying. I am not a father who demands perfection and criticizes my children. I am a loving father who gently encourages and guides. I work along side you and bring you to success. So give me your heart – it is safe with me. We will work together to fulfill your destiny. I designed you equipped to accomplish all the things that I placed in your heart. So don’t doubt that you will succeed. We travel together always – fears, anxiety, doubt are powerless. Simply hold my hand as we journey. Hills and mountains will provide unimaginable vistas. Valleys will be resting places with rivers of nourishment and fields of joy. Be at peace with me, and let’s continue on the adventure.
I took some time to go through my journals to look for entries that might be encouraging to others who are seeking to understand their security and identity in the Lord. I’ve titled these posts “Moments in His Presence”, because they flowed out of time spent wrapped in his love and listening to his voice. I pray that they may encourage and bless you.
I love you with an everlasting love – a love that will not die and cannot be defeated. You live in me; I live in you. Come to the fullness of the understanding of our unity. I challenge you to fully open yourself up to my love. I demonstrated my love for you at the cross. I demonstrated my love for you through the Holy Spirit. This is enough, but I long to give you even more. The fullness of the Spirit is available to my children. Long for it, and pursue it. Seek and you shall find. I give only good gifts to my children. Take time to seek me – I am waiting for you, and am ever eager to meet with you. I love you in all truthfulness, all faithfulness – a love forever.
Fear has stolen my life. Now I am taking back territory.
Sometimes we hear a teaching that really changes our life. For me a message by Danny Silk did just that. It was a simple message about our comfort zone and “Championville”. Championville is out there in that terrifying place that is out of our control. Something about Championville lit a spark in my spirit. I wanted to be in Championville.
So I drew out his illustration from the lesson and kept it on my desk for a long time. I would look at it and wonder, can I go there? Finally I decided if I didn’t do something now, I would never do anything. So following the motto go big or go home, I picked the craziest, most radical group I knew to join for a missions trip to South East Asia – the Banov’s from Global Celebration.
As I prepared to go, I knew if God didn’t show up, I would be an utter failure and failure was my biggest fear. However, if God did show up, then what I believed in my head would become what I actually experienced and knew in my heart.
God, of course, showed up as he always does when we step out in faith. And even though to the world’s eyes I might not have been the most outgoing, “successful” team member, just being there was a great victory. Father wrapped me in his love and peace the entire trip. I simply rested in that place and followed along. Fear did not and could not infiltrate his wings of love.
We experienced amazing things – healing, salvation, love, joy. We were blessed with getting to love on and minister to orphans, individuals in the red light district, individuals who lived and worked at the garbage dumps, and in the slums. It was an amazing and life changing experience that would not have happened if I had listened to the voice of fear.
2 Timothy 1: 7 (AMP): “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self control.”
Our life is a beautiful dance through the universe where Jesus leads. We simply hold his hand and follow where he guides. Our hands and feet are joined in union with his – nailed together to the cross. Our spirits are risen with him – united in his everlasting life. Our old man buried with Christ and left in the grave. Our new man a glorious resurrection. Yet even greater glory is to be revealed when we receive the full promise of his eternal life. We have received his life and love -united eternally in life; united eternally in love. Oh, death where is your sting! Eternity awaits with even greater glory of living in the very presence of Father God. What delight to worship in total awe at his throne – now and forever. We are children of the most high God, wrapped in his everlasting love and engulfed in his light – the bliss of eternal union with God.
The cross displayed the depths of human depravity and cruelty when man is not united to God – devoid of mercy, compassion, or love.
At the same time, the cross displayed the depths of Father God’s goodness and mercy as he pursued his children with tender love and compassion knowing that only in unity with him can we be fulfilled. Only when we believe in his infinite love and his goodness will we give ourselves to him. The only way to show us this unending love and draw us to him was to send his only begotten son. Knowing that his love would be rejected, knowing that those whom he loved unconditionally would betray him, he still came. Because of the prize of winning our hearts, Jesus endured the cross knowing that the forgiveness flowing from the cross would deliver us from the deception of the enemy. As he was lifted up receiving all of our hate and wrath, Father released all of his love and forgiveness, washing away our sin and shame and restoring our unity with him through King Jesus.
And now the good news of the Kingdom is proclaimed. The dynamic, explosive power that raised Christ from the grave works through us! All of the fulness of Christ fills us. Now every year, every month, every week, every day, every moment is jubilee. We declare Father’s jubilee of deliverance through Christ Jesus. All the riches of heaven and earth he bestowed upon us – kings, priests, heirs of the most High God! All praise and glory to the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Kingdom of Heaven is Spiritual, but it manifests in the physical.
If we are in the Kingdom of God, we are not in the Kingdom of the World. If we are not in the Kingdom of the World, then we don’t operate by its principles. We operate by the principles of the Kingdom of God.
The Kingdom of Heaven looks like something. It looks like a feast of love, peace, joy, forgiveness, wholeness, healing, deliverance, mercy, and goodness.
Those in the Kingdom of Heaven are wearing a wedding garment – the robe of Jesus’ righteousness.
Those in the Kingdom of God are enjoying a great feast prepared by the Father to honor his Son.
When we are born through water and the Spirit, Father delivers us into the Kingdom of his Son with pleasure and celebration.
The Kingdom of God is a construct that is outside the religious, political, and economic construct of this world. In fact, it defeated the construct of this world. [Colossians 2:15 “Then Jesus made a public spectacle of all the powers and principalities of darkness, stripping away from them every weapon and all their spiritual authority and power to accuse us. And by the power of the cross, Jesus led them around as prisoners in a procession of triumph. He was not their prisoner; they were his!” The Passion Translation]
